StreamDrop Privacy Policy

StreamDrop ("StreamDrop," "we," "us," or "our") is developed by S&L Application Development LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information StreamDrop collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using StreamDrop, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create a StreamDrop account, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is converted into a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) before it reaches our servers, and we cannot see or recover your actual password.

Sign in with Apple. If you choose to sign in using Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple-generated identifier and whatever name/email Apple chooses to share (which may be a private relay address if you select "Hide My Email"). We do not receive your real Apple ID password or any other Apple account details.

Profile information. Your display name and, optionally, a profile photo or preset avatar you choose.

App usage data you provide directly:

• The streaming services you tell us you subscribe to (e.g., Netflix, Hulu, Disney+)
• Shows and movies you add to your watchlist
• Ratings you give to shows, seasons, and movies
• Notification and reminder preferences (which days/times you want alerts, digest settings)
• Your subscription tier (Monthly/Yearly), reflected from Apple's App Store — see Section 4

Information we do not collect:

• We do not collect your payment or card information. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; StreamDrop never sees your payment details.
• We do not use Face ID or Touch ID data. If you enable the optional app-lock feature, authentication happens entirely on your device using Apple's Face ID/Touch ID system — biometric data is never transmitted to us or stored on our servers. We only receive a simple "authentication succeeded" or "failed" result from your device.
• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. StreamDrop does not show ads and does not sell or share your data with advertisers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Create and maintain your account, and let you sign in from multiple devices with your data kept in sync
• Show you shows/movies available on the streaming services you selected
• Send you local notifications about new episodes, upcoming releases, and your weekly/digest reminders, based on the settings you choose
• Provide customer support if you contact us
• Determine your subscription status and unlock the corresponding features

We do not use your information for any purpose beyond operating the app's features described above.

3. How Your Information Is Stored and Shared

Database hosting. Your account and app data are stored using Supabase, a third-party database hosting provider. Supabase stores the data on our behalf; it does not independently use your data for its own purposes.

Third-party content data. To show you information about shows and movies (titles, artwork, episode schedules, and where content is streaming), StreamDrop sends show/movie titles and IDs — not your personal account information — to two third-party content data providers:

• The Movie Database (TMDB)
• Streaming Availability API (via RapidAPI)

These requests are used only to retrieve show/episode/availability information and do not include your name, email, or account identifiers.

Apple. Subscription purchases, free trial eligibility, and receipt validation are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We only receive the resulting subscription tier (e.g., "monthly," "yearly," or none) — never your payment information.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Subscriptions

StreamDrop offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (Monthly and Yearly plans) through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. First-time subscribers may be eligible for a free trial period, the length of which is shown on the subscription screen before you purchase.

5. Your Choices and Rights

• Access and correction. You can review and update most of your account information (name, avatar, selected services, notification settings) directly within the app under Profile.
• Notifications. You can disable any notification type at any time in the app's Profile settings, or by disabling notifications for StreamDrop in your device's iOS Settings.
• Deleting your data. StreamDrop does not currently have a self-service "Delete Account" button in the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at streamdropdev90@outlook.com from the email address associated with your account, and we will delete your data within a reasonable time.
• Sign out. You can sign out of your account at any time from Profile.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion (see Section 5), we will delete your personal information from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

StreamDrop is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at streamdropdev90@outlook.com and we will delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including one-way hashing of passwords and access controls on our database. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of StreamDrop after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
